Privacy Policy — WL: WhatsApp Work/Life

The short version

WL collects nothing. Zero. Everything stays on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, and no way to see anything about you or your chats.

What WL does NOT collect

Your messages or message content
Your contacts or phone number
Which chats you have or who you talk to
Your name, email, or any personal information
Usage data, analytics, or telemetry of any kind
Browsing history or activity outside WhatsApp Web

What WL stores locally on your device

WL saves two things to your browser's local storage — and only to your browser:

Your current mode (Work or Personal)
The names of chats you have tagged as Work or Personal

This data never leaves your device. It is stored using Chrome's storage.local API, which is sandboxed to the extension on your machine only.

Permissions explained

storage — to save your tags and mode locally on your device
web.whatsapp.com access — to inject the mode toggle button and apply visual treatment to the chat list

No other permissions are requested. WL does not request access to your tabs, browsing history, cookies, network traffic, or any other data.

No servers. No third parties.

WL makes zero network requests. There are no servers, no databases, no third-party SDKs, no analytics libraries, and no cloud services of any kind involved in running this extension.

Open source

WL is open source. You can read every line of code and verify exactly what it does. If anything in this policy ever contradicted the source code, the source code would be the truth.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what data the extension accesses (which would only happen to add a feature you opt into), we will update this page and bump the extension version with a clear changelog note.
